+1 Bruce2 answer about the alternator. It could be that; if alternator stops working your battery will run a slow (not so slow actually) death - when battery is drained the car would stop and you would not be able to start it again. But also agree with PeterBlue, give us more details of what is really going-on. Does the engine crank? Or do you just get dead silence when you turn the ignition key? If so, then battery is dead and most likely the alternator is the culprit. If the car is still cranking around, but not starting you will have different issues to investigate, such as the Fuel Pump, Fuel pressure regulator, fuel injectors, Camshaft Position Sensor to name a few. Also agree, check if you have any codes stored with an OBDII meter. Sometimes codes are stored even though the CEL light does not come-on. Also check easy things first, such as fuses for fuel pump, ignition, etc. Could be something very simple and best practise is to diagnose from easy fix to more difficult ones. Good luck.
