Default 2002 Kia Sedona won't start

We have a 2002 Sedona and when we turn the key it won't do anything. It makes no noise to turn over. The lights and dings happen but that's all. We can roll up and down the windows and have charged the battery and cleaned the terminals to make sure that wasn't it. Two days ago (before it wouldn't start at all again) it did the same thing and I tried it a few more times and eventually it started. Once I made it to my destination I turned it off, waited a few (about 10) mins and it started up again with no problems. Now it won't start at all. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Have you had the battery tested? Cranking amps are important here. If you don't have it, its not going to start. What do you have as far as mileage? If you are beyond 60k miles and haven't done the timing belt, take a look at that to see if the belt broke and the pistons are making contact with the valves. If these items are good, you might try tapping on the starter with a hammer (if you can get access). If it starts, then you got a bad spot in the starter or the wiring may have an issue.

I've actually experience it before when I buy my 2nd hand kia carnival 2001. In the morning, the engine easily starts. But if you run it for about 15kms or more and then try to start the engine, you've just heard nothing but clicking sound only (no cranking). We've recondition the starter, alternator, battery, ignition switch, etc., but nothing happens. Then one time I've read a forum about kia, no starting and finally, my problem have been solved. Ask your electrician to make a connection from the positive polarity of your battery through the wire on ignition switch (jumpstarting for short).

You've got a bad starter. Same thing happened to me. Cost about $400 to have someone repair.
