Default It's all been said before but please humour me - Veg Oil Mix

I know this subject has been talked about at length on this forum and I've read a lot on the subject however I am still left with some questions and I'd be very grateful if anyone could help:

1. Is my 2003 2.9 CRDi LX a common rail engine (I'm guessing it is by the CR in the name but just want to clear on it)

2. Is it the common rail engines that users have successfully utilised a veg/derv mix?

3. If it is (theoretically at least) possible, should I use acetone as a thinner or is that only really applicable if it's a high mix (I'm figuring on going up to maybe 30%)

The most recent post on the subject I can find mentions a Flora type residue, has anyone suffered these problems?

Many thanks to anyone who helps me out with this one!
