Default crank pully nut

does anyone know how to lock the engine to remove the crank pully nut on a 1999 sedona 2.9tdi auto, thanks.

Hi I used a3/4 inch drive 38mil socket on a 3/4 inch drive Knuckle bar and braced it against the suspension and flicked the starter This does work but they can be hard to get off
