Hi

Checked mine yesterday. IMMO light stays on after all warning lights have settled down. But if ignition left on it goes out after 30 seconds but it still starts ok. Hope this helps.

Regards John.

The same thing happened to my 03 2.9, it turned out to be the receiver ring that fits round the key hole of the ignition switch.

Basically you have a signal sent by the chip in the key that is picked up by the receiver/aerial ring and in turn cancels the immobilizer. Now the important bit. The replacement costs about £25 and you need to carefully remove the steering column plastic covering and trace the wire back to its connector and unclip. The ring is fixed in place by a small screw, remove this and slide the ring off. Replacement is a reverse of this.

Hope this helps, mine now starts faultlessly.
