Question Oh Oh where can my OBD plug be..

Ok the old 2001 2.9 SX TD has beaten me...
Can anybody help and tell me where the 'standard' OBD socket is?
I have found the non standard connector in the fuse box under the bonnet but my scanner does not fit that. I have read in this forum that a standard connector is under the dash somewhere. Do you think I can find it? NO.
Even my wife has had a 'Womans' look and can't find it..

Please Please Please can somebody help before I do something i later regret..

Don't think 2001 and earlier models sold outside nth america have the std OBD2 connector. My 2001 carnival doesn't have one either.
But you can pin out the under bonnet production line diagnostic link and still use your code reader I have done it with my petrol carnival.

That's what I'd suspected. Any idea on what the pinouts are? I found this on e-bay KIA 20 PINS OBD CONNECTOR TO OBD2 Diagnostic adapter on eBay, also, Diagnostic Tools Equipment, Garage Equipment Tools, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 20-May-09 13:12:56 BST) would I be right in assuming that number 1 of the diagnostic socket is the the top left hand pin of the row with the cutout? which pins are you using?

Cheers

The K line is the diagnostic feed you need to pin out for your OBD2 scan tool the the grd is used as well.
KIA pin 9 to tool pin 7,
Grd is KIA pin 4 to tool pin 4 or KIA pin 12 to tool pin 5
Pwr is KIA pin 5 to tool pin 16
