Default while idling

My kia sedona is making a rattling noise while idiling periodically. It will sound fine then it will go ugly then fine then ugly and so forth. This is while i warm it up. I can`t tell if there is a problem when i am driving it. I had the timing belt replaced some time ago. t is now at 66k miles. It is a strange situation as it is sporatic. Has anyone expirienced thgis and if so do you know the outcome. I have an extended warranty of 100k 10 years. I fight tooth an nail for any work done with the extended warranty. I will never pay extra again. warning lights should be going of in your head when the manufacturer will not sell you an extended warranty directly. When they offer a third party warranty just say no and ewonder why they will not sell it through the actual manufacturer.

Next time the van is in for service, have them check the crankshaft pulley. If the rubber insulator between the inner hub and outter pulley is cracked/deteriorated it can cause this type of situation. Worst case scenarior is the outter pulley is completely separated from the inner hub. This may cause a "wobbling" appearance to the crank pulley and possible belt slippage. Good luck, I hope this helps you out
