Default Kia Sedona 2002 gas tank Problem Help

have a 2002 Kia Sedona and we are having problems with the gas tank. When I Filling up it cuts off when the pump is running at full speed. We have to run the pump so slowly that it takes a while to fill the tank.

I did a search and find out another guy with the same problem, Some one point the guy to check the vent solenoid or vent solenoid filter. He said when the solenoid is sticking closed or the filter is clogged it will cause this problem.
I read his post but I can't find where is this filter or solenoid. Can some one can guive me an idea where to get this for cleaning or may be replace. He mention that normally you wiil have a check eng light on and on my case is on and have the same code that he mention which is P0455 and indicates a large leak in the evaporative system
Thanks
Felix

We had a similar issue with our 2002 Sedona. It turned out to be the vent solenoid filter. It is located just in front of the gas tank on the drivers side of the vehicle. It snaps onto the rear side of the fuel vent canister. I manged to do it myself for about $25.00. I,m guessing a shop would charge $25.00 for the part plus 1 hour labor. It was not that difficult to change. Getting the old hoses off presented the worst problems. If you remove the filter, you should be able to blow through it with little restriction. The solenoid is normally open, so you should be able to blow through it as well.

Hope that helps,
Walt
