Default PROBLEM!!! Central Locking / Remote Key Fob

I've a 02 sedona and recently my key fob stopped working. Now this is a replacement fob that's been programmed with the car, but for some reason I can't get it to work again. I have also tried a spare fob I have and the car wont recognise that either!? I have a feeling it maybe the reciever in the car? the ECU? has anyone else had this problem???

We have an '05 Sedona, Van will start but will not engage into gear. I looked into the manual and there is some sort of override?? Where you are able to put a small screw driver in this hole next to the gear shift ( we have a small allen driver) and we are able to engage with this allen driver in. If we take it out we can't move the shifter at all. The allen driver dosen't seem to be into or touching anything in there?? But it does work. Any ideas on what it could be to permantly fix this problem?
Thanks
Vince
