2006 Sedona LX
I have purchased a new Sedona 4/06 and began experiencing problems in 10/06. The brake, esc, and check engine light would light up. Then the car would eventually die. The problem got worse in 2/07 and we took it to the dealer. After four trips and 900 test miles they found a bad ground under the driver's wheel well. The vehicle had numerous parts installed and removed during the search. I filed complaints with KIA. Unfortunately, the lemon law time frame was off by under a month. This problem was a nightmare bcause the car died perhaps 50 times while driving. Eventaully it was towed in.
The dealer claimed they found the problem and they did in 7/07.
After the car was fixed, I noticed it drifted to the left, (not sure what to make of it)
In Nov 06, my wife called at night panicking because the headlights didnt work. The dealer said improper grounds shorted the headlights and horn.
Fixed in 2 days.
In Aug 08 driving home from 150 mile trip, the esc light came on the dash. Asked wife if this ever happened, She said no. I wondered what we were in store for. Stopped to drop somebody off, put the car in park.
The car would not come out of park and the brake lights were on without being applied. Called Kia to Tow vehicle at 1030 pm on the holiday weekend.
The car was disabled in the middle of the street for 2 hours plus while waiting for a tow. Had to be lifted by the front end Because driver could not get it out of park. Dealer said the brake assembly shorted out and ruined my holiday.
During this time , there was a clicking noise under the glove box only while the car is turned off with tha AC on. Wonder what could be next.
The car to the dealer 9 times for various issues. In Nov 06, I got frustrated and bought a used car because I was losing it with the Kia.
Now on 10/01/08, I still have to get the clicking fixed and the drifting left problem.
This is the first new car I purchased and the most unreliable vehicle ( of perhaps 10) my family has ever owned. I can't believe KIA had the nerve to release this disaster to the public with all these defects.
As of 10/08, the car has 17,000 miles because we don't feel save driving it. Looking forward (ha) to schedule my next dealer visit next week.
