I am in the middle of changing my timing belt and have come to the point werethe cams keep on moving. I heard there was a tool that can be used to secure the cams.

Hi KiaSon,

I have questions about this holding tool,

Where did you find the specs for it, and do you know if I can get a camshaft holding tool for the 2.9Tdi Carnaval (Sedona)?

My wife drives a 1997 Rover 600Sdi and when changing the belts on this I had special locking pins for the injector pump, camshaft and flywheel. Does anyone on the forum know if anything similar exists for the KIA 2.9 diesel engine?

Cheers

the one that you get at autozone is the best for the job. the expensive one that you can get that holds it in the teeth of the gears is crap and a pain in the ass to work with.
