Default 60K service

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum.

We have had a kia sedona for about 5 years now and it is time for the 60,000 mile service. My wife called the dealership and they told her that would be over $1100.00 (!!!) for that service.

Does anybody know why it is so expensive?

Any feedback on having a private/ small autoshop perform the service?

thanks!!!

Isn't that one the one that includes the changing of the timing belt.

It should include a platinum plug tune-up, wire set, timing belt, all filters and fluids, as well as a thorough inspection. Use independent garages at your own risk, as I have made quite a bit of money off correcting incorrect service/diagnosis.

See if they'll give you a parts quote, that is, to have all the parts and prices for you, along with a total labor cost. IMHO, it's a bit high, but not much.
