Default 2007 Sedona: Service Manual woes

Am but a year or so in my first time Kia experience, (2007 Sedona) and am also in the newbie category here, so I ask your indulgence and apologize in advance if this has been aired elsewhere in this forum.

...am feeling like I'm from a generation gone by because I have been on a fruitless search for trying to buy the service manual so I can work on my Sedona. (I'm a motor-head, so I do mean more than mere oil change and brake pad maintenance).

Seems times have changed. No such service manual appears to be available from any manual publisher and Kia's site invites me to get one from the Parts Dept at my local dealer, who, well, you probably know how that went.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Apparently, there's an online manual?

I want to change my tranny fluid and am unclear if there's a drain plug or if I must simply drop its pan. Need to do this to stay in warranty compliance. which, by the way, causes me to ask, 'am I crazy or does it seem strange we owners are required to maintain our vehicles for warranty reasons and yet the manuals to guide us in doing so are interestingly not available. Hmmm, sort of forces business to the dealer service dept so I can pay 4x the cost, doesn't it?

I purchased a factory paper manual for my carnival at my Kia parts dealer. So they can be purchased but you have to insist they order it in.

Kia service manuals are available for free at www.kiatechinfo.com. You just need to register on the site, which is also free to anyone. It also gives you access to TSBs and other helpful info.

I just bought a workshop manual today for my 2000 model, pricey but worth it i think. The part numbers are online but you have to insist they order one for you. It's the same one's the Kia technicians use. It has details for everything and goes into great detail on things.

It was £58 to me as i got a bit of discount.
