Default Stop Leak in A/C System

A couple of years ago I took my 2003 Sedona for warranty work. Apparently the compressor was bad and was replaced.

This summer I took the van to my mechanic to check coolant and add extra if needed. I just did not feel like it was running cool enough. He called me a bit later and said that he could not put any more in because there was too much stop leak.

Now if my compressor was bad and replaced why did they add stop-leak?

Maybe I'm wrong here and shoot me if you want but:-

"STOP LEAK" ......... IN THE FREON R134a AIRCO SYSTEM ?????

You use a compressor problem (refrigerant) in one sentence and coolant (engine system) in the next.

I don't see the connection

This is not about coolant. I should have said refrigerant instead of the word coolant.
