Exclamation automatic transaxle

Hi, I have a kia carnival 2000 diesel. When I put the lever in D and the car go to forward ok,and then I put the lever in R and go towards back good, but after some 5 minutes did not respond lever any position. the next day the same thing .I want to know if someone has had this problem and that solution found, thanks.

Hi It sounds like your top bearing in your gearbox has gone or is on its way out (design fault in gearbox means top bearing does not get lubricated and eventually wears out so when checking your gearbox oil you must have the engine running for at least 2 to 3 minutes and top up oil to the top mark. When the engine is switched off gearbox oil level registers as overfilled by about 1 inch over the dipstick mark). This happened to me and I had to have a new gearbox case and a gearbox rebuild also £1800 lighter after paying for it Best of luck
