Default Brake pad removal

I had a look at trying to replace my front pads today - Is there an eay way to remove the calipers? There are 2 bolts each top and bottom, one holding the caliber, one the carrier - neither would budge at all.

Any ideas?

to get the bolts moving give the spanner a good whack with a mallet making sure the car is well supported first

Thanks. I did try giving it a dolt with a hammer, but was scared of shearing the bolt. I'll give it a harder bash later...

Glad I didn't have those problems....

Got the job done - it just needed brute force and ignorance (and a club hammer). And whose idea is it to use such a soft metal on the disk fixing screws....

An impact driver works best on those screws.
