Default No oil pressure when engine is hot

I have an 02 Sedona that when the engine warms up has zero (0) oil pressure. I put in a mechanical guage, so I am sure there is no pressure. Also, as expected, there is a lot of valvetrain noise with 0 pressure. I noticed smoke and a burning oil smell from the fron exhaust manifold, but couldn't see a leak. I changed the oil, put in some Lucas oil conditioner, and changed the filter with no results (that was a month ago,and the van has been sitting since. We don't drive it.)

Any ideas as to what to look at next? Thanks.

Good idea not to drive it.

Are you getting good pressure on a cold start?

Could be the oil pump failed or strainer blocked.

Time to change the oil pump & give the whole engine a flush out.

Just hope that no serious damage has been caused already.

You may have spun a bearing it will most likely require full engine disassembly to confirm the fault.

what does spinning a bearing have to do with no oil pressure. alarming is right take off your oil pan to check to see if the pick up is clogged. if it s unbolt it clean it and put back on. but if its the oil pump its alot more work and i reall dont feel like typing it out. but i would try either a an engine flush kit or pick up first

Your approach to investigating the problem is good.

The excessive clearance when a white metal bearing is gone could cause the loss of oil pressure - when the engines hot and oil viscosity lower there may be insufficient back pressure due to bearing problems.
