Default overheating I think can you help?

Hi Its me again after all the issues I had after having a recon gearbox I am still getting the engine check light come on as I go up hill or accelerate. This does not happen when its cold only when warmed up.

I took into KIA last week and had diagnostics the fault codes were P1120 and P1119 which refer to the inlet metering valve on the fuel system. But they could not fix it unless taken in for 3 days I found out the code info on the net as KIA did not know!!

Looking today I realised the radiator fan is not cutting in so I tried the AC on cold on full and both fans did not work. So I checked all the fuses and relays all checked out okay I then ran a wire from the Battery to the Fan motors they both sparked into life, so the fans themselves are okay. I have taken it out on a run and got the engine hot just under halfway on the temp guage and still no fan not even on slow speed I am begining to fault the fan thermostat CAN any one tell where it is located ??? if the stat checks out there may be a break in the loom which could have occurred when the gearbox was rebuilt. The increase in heat may be upsetting the inlet valve sensor causing teh engine check light to come on.

Has anyone got a wiring diagram for the Air Con circuit and the circuit for engine radiator fan??

Finally once again any ideas or help would be gratefully received.

many thanks

Martin

You can get the electrical schematics in the "ETM" section on the KiaTech web site.

Hi Ron

I have just checked on the website looking at the V^ diagrams but the AC and cooling circuit pages are coming up blank other diagrams are okay though.

Can you see the wiring diagrams?

Martin
