Sedona air con (again)
Hi all.
I have an 03 Sedona which I have had for four years. It's been great so far but the clutch went a short while back. No prob with that, I had it done by the local Kia dealer and it's working fine but the air con has stopped working. As the weather up here in not so sunny Yorkshire hasn't been exactly air con-ish I have only just tried the air con. Suffice to say it aint working.
Nothing happens, no revs drop, no cold air. Oh the air con indicator light does come on.
My question is would the dealer have had to drain the aircon to remove any pipes to facilitate removal of the clutch. Obviously at this stage of the game I will not be going back and complaining but I would like any clues as to why it has stopped working.
I have read this forum about air con not working and mostly this seems to be caused by corroded pipes. I have checked all the pipes that I can see that are to do with the air con and can see no corrosion whatsoever, not even on the one behind the grill. I also checked the rear heater pipes for the same thing and they seem to be sound as well mine seem to have a rubber cover on them. I cannot see any leaks i.e. fluid marks around any of the air con pipe joints either. I have also checked the fuse and that is intact.
I realise that to give any difinitive answers would be impossible but if any one has any clues or ideas before I commit to a very expensive air con repair, such as electrical, I would be grateful.
Cheers
