Default High idle after air filter replacement???

I replaced the stock air filter with an open air filter from AutoZone on my wife's 05 Sedona. Now the idle speed seems to be pretty high when it starts up. It's in the ballpark of 1200RPM. After driving for a while, the idle speed goes back down to under 1000RPM. I've disconnected the battery to try to reset the computer, but it didn't help. Has anyone else experienced this and how do I fix it? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

When you installed the new air filter system, what did you do with the Intake Air temperature (IAT) sensor?

The Idle Speed Control (ISC) valve is used to maintain a set idle speed and used for the high idle when the engine is cold.
One of the Sedona owners could advise what the normal high idle speed is for cold starts, and possibly this is what you're now experiencing - not sure of the relationship to the new air filter system.
Have you tried going back to the original air intake as a test?

I didn't remove any of the sensors. All I did was remove the top of the air box and filter, then connected the new filter in its place. I thought about replacing everything to see if there is a difference. Since it's my wife's vehicle, I'm not sure how it was idling prior to the switch and she's not much help because, "I don't pay attention to stuff like that". I'm going to look at it again in the morning.
