got the new belt fitted it on no problem at all, put most of the bits and pieces back together, tried to turn her over.....nothing.

I removed the fuel filter when clearing the decks so looks like theres no fuel in the system, have pumped the primer bulb but nothing theres no fuel coming upto the filter....does this mean I need to bleed the system?....if so how please, if not how can I get the diesel flowing

Cheers
Pete

Sorry I came to this too late ...put the long socket extension on the crank bolt and tie the other end to the chassis with a bit of rope so it wont fly about ...hit the starter ...bolt undone ....simple trade method...

Of course you all must be blind ..can you not see those two lugs sticking out on the crank pulley ?? You use a sort of C spanner to hold the pulley .....and thats how you hold it to tighten it ...

Bit of tube with two slots in the end ..weld on a 2 ft side handle ...slots hold the pulley ..socket goes down the middle

Update from me.......the old girl is back on the road working.......!!!

I got the fuel system working again by buying a few quids worth of diesel from the garage and injecting it into the fuel filter...burst into life on the 2nd turn, I also turned the crankshaft about 3 rotations also in a clockwise direction dont know if this helped also

Thanks to everyone who helped me through this.....!

Onto my next thread

Pete
