Default lifter noise

hi I have a v6 carnival here with what appears to be horrendous lifter noise
do they have hydrualic lifters, should i be able to push the cam buckets down with a screw driver surely the valve springs aren't that weak
has any one had any experience with hyd lifters on a v6 carnival?
would like to hear from you

it appears I was a bit hasty in my diagnosis
apon further inspection it has jumped teeth on the belt
and the noise would be the valves clashing
I now assume it has bent valves etc etc etc

You may be lucky, but obviously without stripping the head it's a bit tricky to tell. I know some Vauxhall engines were designed so that the valves wouldn't touch the piston. Good luck
