400 miles sounds about right. It's a heavy car and not exactly aerodynamic
To reduce you fuel consumption either don't drive it or drive so slowly and carefully you'll have tail backs everywhere you go

That's what I'm getting with our 2007 2.9 deisel, but the wife gets about 420. Whe nthe light comes on we top up right away and the max we've ever managed to get in is about 63 litres so with steady driving you may get about 450 to a tank.

To save fuel we have the back 2 seats out to keep the weight down and use the rear quarter windows rather than the front side ones to cool down.

Hope this helps

might be an idea to either move or take off the 2 cross bars that go over the roof . I've moved mine to the rear of the car to try and reduce the airflow

I just got over 500 miles with mine and that's with about 50% motorway, 50% town driving
