Default sedona won't start????? HELP ME

Hi

I have an 03 2.9 crdi LX diesel sedona, I went out to go to work this morning and the car would not start, it just turned over, the heater plug coil light on the dashboard did not come on as normal, could this be an indication of the problem? How can I check this?

Can you bump start a diesel???

Any help would be good.

THANKS

possible causes of your heater light not coming on could be a solenoid failure or the immobiliser playing up but not being an auto electrician i cant help much more but a way of getting a diesel started from cold if the pre heater isnt working is to pour boiling water over the intercooler (radiator above engine) and yes you can bump start a diesel provided its not an auto but the higher compression of a diesel means it will take more of a bump also 2 tons of sedona will take quite a bit of shifting
best of luck

Thanks for that info, is the immobiliser some way connnected to the heater circuit? I suppose that's how it immobilises. I tried it again at lunchtime and the coil came on and went off, car started no probs??? but after switching it off, no joy!! Is there anything I can check myself?

Thanks for the link, I went out to the car last night, locked the door with the remote, unlocked and jumped in, the coil light came on and went off, the car started!! did that a couple of times and same result?? If I get out the car, leave it unlocked and then get back in, no joy?? very strange, a bit of a pain when I have to keep locking then unlocking but at least I am moving!!

Anybody got an idea how/why this might be??

cheers Kev
