Default Wanted CRDi Engine or fuel pump

I have a 2002 Sedona with the metal contanimation problem in the fuel.

I need a new high pressure fuel pump and can confirm there is only one pump on these common rail diesels driven by the cambelt, there is no pump in the tank.

Mine has broken up even though it still works; it blocked the injectors.

By the time ive bought new injectors and pump an engine would be cheaper.

Kia want £2500 for a pump, yes 2.5 grand for a pump so Sedona owners be warned!!

Anyone who has an engine even if its cambelt has snapped let me know!!

Thanks

Theres a few breakers on Ebay, but most breakers know HP injection pumps are big money...so they will command a big price.

I'm sure somebody in this forum ( possiblly London area ) got there' sorted complete for about £600 quid, possibly someone recon'ed the pump.

Mine's 2002 car with high mileage. If I could afford to offload mine and upgrade then I would. It always plagues my mind whether the pump will disintigrate one day and wright the car off.

I know a mate who had a 2002 Saab 93 diesel which had an expired pump. It cost him £2500 to sort it . So this isn't exclusive to KIA Sedonas.

Try looking up "dieselbob" on the net i know they are specialists in this sort of thing.
They may be able to service your pump or offer an exchange unit. They also do injectors etc.
Tell us how you get on.#

Could you not get it rebuilt? I know of a company in Maidstone that specialises in diesels and they repair and recondition fuel pumps.
