Default 2002 Sedona 3.5 V6 questions

First question, I do not know if this has been answered before, but is this motor an interference, or non-interference motor? I am at 60k and am trying to decide if I should replace the timing belt, or just leave it till it fails.

Second question. When on a long drive and using the cruise control the speedometer will drop to 0 and the cruise control will turn off. No other indications. If I put my foot on the gas the speedometer will bounce a few times and go back to whatever speed I am driving. It seems to happen more when the van is coming over the top of a hill and starting down so that the throttle is backed off a bit. Has anyone seen this or know where to start troubleshooting? It is not something I can replicate standing still!

Third question. At night the headlights will dim a bit for a moment and then go back to normal. This happens intermittently. At first I thought it was my eyes playing tricks on me, but it has become a bit more regular. Has anyone had that problem and if so what would you check first?

I get to replace the spark plugs this weekend! There goes my freaking weekend! LOL It only took me 20 minutes to do an oil change air filter change and replace my spark plugs in my Hyundai, too bad they design the Sedona to be serviceable!

Hiya jplatt

A word of warning, do NOT let your timing belt fail, as it will cause massive damage to your engine when it does. It is much better to be proactive and change it completely before any problems occur to it.

We had a Rio where the timing belt failed and the Valve was snapped and DRIVEN into the piston so hard that it only stuck out part way.

Here is a handy website for you. www.kiatechinfo.com

Sign up to it, and you will have access to the same information that the KIA trained technicians do.
