Default What does code P0441 mean?

I own a 2006 Sedona LX. My engine light came on. Code P0441 was given. All the tech notes say on work order is......."insufficient purge.....reprogrammed to ensure light not to come back on as per campaign" Because of dealership actions in past, it's difficult for me to trust them.

What does this code mean and should a repair have been performed??

Please help!

P0441 is a standard OBDII code for evap system malfunction - insufficient purge.

I'm speculating here, but based on the corrective action mentioned, it sounds like there was a firmware upgrade to the ECU to correct a programming bug. No physical issue with the evap system.

That said, the first things to check on your own next time you get a CEL: tighten the gas cap and take care not to top off your tank. A loose gas cap can create an open system, making the ECU think that there's an evap system leak. Topping off can flood the vapor recovery.

I got a CEL this weekend...I'll take it over to Autozone to have them scan it first to see what the code is and have them clear it. If it comes back again, I'll have to schedule some time with the dealer.
