Default pulley bolt

All pulley bolt are very tight closed and even in the shop it tacks awhile to open.
but i opened it ones on my old car when changing the timing belt. with the help of the starter of the engine.
you have to secure the ranch very good to the floor or other part of car and then the tern start the car. and the starter will do the rest .
do not hold the ranch whit you hands in case it slips.

I have undone two crank pulley bolts recently. Its anticlockwise. I got someone to hold the flywheel ring gear and used a socket with 3/4 drive and a large bar. They are tight but not really tight!

How did the someone hold the flywheel ring gear? Using a screw driver?

By the way, did you change the timing belt of Sedona? I am planning to do it on my '02 Sedona with 3.5L V6, however I found that the belt goes through the big engine mount which I don't know how to open. Can you share your experience? Thanks.

Hi Hongo,

I have only changed the belts on the diesel models, i would not entertain running a petrol one in the UK! I would convert to LPG probably! Anyway I will check the procedure for changing a belt on the petrol lump. Usually they are easier than the diesel versions.
