Question 05 Sedona Spark Plugs

Just got an 05 Sedona and I have 2 questions, how do you get at the back three plugs without removing the plenum, and what size are the caliper and bracket bolts?

I work on these everyday and to my knowledge there is no way to change the plugs without removing the plenum

Thats right, When the dealer do the job its expensive because of that and they replace the intake gasket, But it s platinum spark plugs and should not be replace before 60000 miles. So if you do the job put the higest quality platinum plugs available. For the caliper its metric, should be 17mm and 21mm for the braket. Don t forget to grease guide pin with brake lube to prevent seizing.

I shook my head in disbelief when I went to do spark plugs on my '03. Horrible engineering if you ask me! Also, when I changed the plugs out, I pulled out two NGK and 4 Champion plugs. I did this at 80,000 miles and the plugs were absolutly junk, I'm surprised it started at all. I knew the "100k mile tune up" wasn't going to work out

How difficult to remove 3.5L V6's manifold and will coolant come out when the manifold is removed? Does the gasket have to be replaced?

I would too. I can say that no factory is without a bug or two when building anything. I mean one badge on one side and another on teh other is more common than one might like. Like V6 and V8 or F150 XLT and F150 XLS. But two NGK and four Champs! that is insane. Adn a sure sign someone else was there well before you, and changed out two OEM Champs for the better Two NGK. Bet they were on teh easy side to get at too? And they probley quit after that and left in the rest. Or that was the two cyl that were giving trouble and all that got replaced.

It was about 1.5 hours for me to do it. It could be done quicker, but I took my time trying not to break anything. No coolant goes through the plenum. Be very carefull removeing the plug boots, twist and pull slowly. I tried to hurry too much on my last plug and tore the top off the boot. I RTV'd it back on , runs perfect. I't not the easiest tune-up I've done, but it too bad. The gasket is a steel shim type. It could probably be reused, but for the $7 it costs at Autozone, why chance it!
