2007 sedona knocking when started

I just bought a new 2007 sedona, has 800 miles and knocks for the first 10 sec, and goes away. is this normal. the noise is is very load.

The noise that you're hearing is caused by a problem with the Timing Chain Tensioners. This is a quite a common problem with Kia/Hyundai's 3.3L & 3.8L Lambda engines.

There's a TSB regarding this. Take the vehicle to a dealer and have them replace the Timing Chain Tensioners. This is quite a big job, and involves stripping down part of the engine. Expect the vehicle to be in the shop for at least one day.

Can you hear this in the cabin? I heard a light knocking while the engine was running and the hood was up, but I haven't heard anything inside the van.
