Default Dodge Grand Caravan

Hi Guys.

I wanted to discuss this car specifically in this sub-forum due to the exposure to us minivan owners:

What do people think of the Dodge Grand Minivan? (Dodge - 2008 Grand Caravan - Minivans, Vans)

Is it actually any good? Build quality, engine, ride, space?

Or is it a real lemon in dress?

Cheers,
Chaser

I can't speak with experience on any Chrysler product as I've never owned one but my best mate who is a real Chrysler/Valiant nut (he owns a VF Valiant Regal "770" 318 V8 with original factory a/c) has researched the current models & was quite disappointed to tell me that reliability is a really big problem on virtually all the new Chryslers. He reckons it's to do with the Mexican factories.

In general Chrysler's reliability is pretty bad, although (Grand) Caravan is one of their most reliable cars. It is interesting that Chrysler has used its 3.3L 12-valve 170-hp V6 engine on (Grand) Caravans for about 20 years, it seems Chrysler never bothers to develop a new engine for its vans.

Anyway, 2008 Caravans carry a lifetime powertrain warranty in U.S., this may make people feel better with their reliability.
