Default Looking for a little help

Hi... new here and have searched through previous posts but can't find anything here as yet. Hoping someone can help me diagnose a problem with my 2000 Sedona 2.5 V6

I'm getting an overheating problem with the engine. Temperature runs up to the top after about 10-15 minutes driving. The expansion tank appears to be filling itself with coolant, in that the level increases instead of going down. In addition (I don't know if this is linked) the heating inside the car stopped working at the same time and it only blows cold (a little chilly at this time of year). It looks like the coolant in the radiator is flowing back into the expansion tank through the overflow pipe and is then stuck there with no where to go.

I've got a feeling this is a water pump problem, but I'm just wondering if someone can confirm this and if the heating in the car is linked, or if this is a seperate problem?

Thanks all in advance.

you may have the infamous headgasket problem but you may be lucky and just have an airlock in the system or a blockage, is the radiator getting hot all over? if only part of it is it may be blocked or be full of air is the heater putting out hot air or not ? if not then the water is not circulating most likely an airlock sorry but i cannot give you any specifics on bleeding the system as mine is a diesel but a couple of suggestions are find the highest hose on the engine and fill up there (reread your post no heat so an airlock sounds likely )have you had any part of the cooling system apart lately?
best of luck ttfn glenn

Have you checked the thermostat? Make sure that it’s not stuck in the closed position.
A blown head gasket will usually cause overheating, poor performance, ping sound from motor, anti-freeze leaking from the side of the motor, white smoke from the exhaust and some times water mixed into your oil.
