I bought my Sedona 2nd hand the tyres on it are currently 205/65/R15/94h is this the correct tyre for the sedona as i will be needing a few new ones soon.
I was going to buy Vredesteins Maloya Futura Primato from mytyres at £43.30 per tyre delivered as this tyre came out 2nd best on Auto Express`s annual tyre test only beaten by Vredesteins premium type.
Anyone can advise that the above tyre ratings are correct and any opinions on a better tyre or cheaper places to buy from
a couple of years ago i was commuting between sw scotland and sw england and needed new tyres on my van (185x14c)and the price in scotland was £60 each and in england £30 so you can guess where i bought my tyres but that was then and this is now so i would suggest you google tyres and see who does what i believe firms called rubberball and black circles can do some web prices ps if you are in the south west the prices then and there were from kings road tyres pps looking through the history which came with our car the supplying dealer did some good prices on tyres but i fear that good prices are a lot of phone calls away by playing the tyre firms off against each other since whenever i have called for prices it seems the first question they ask you is "what price have you been quoted" so you have to keep going round in circles to edge them down
Pete, 215/65R15 is the correct size for European Sedonas (recommended pressure being 36psi).
Not sure where youy live but if you have alocal Protyre, give'em a try as they have always provided me with a good, normally cheapest around service and also provide a mobile fitting service at no extra cost (saves queueing).

Pete, no typo.
The size for Europe and Australia is 215/65R15 (H rated).
The US and other markets specify 205/70R15 (H rated).
Hope this helps, though I was considering upgrading to 22565R15 if it is recopmmended by my Tyre experts.
thanks for the info, can I just put 215 or 225s on my existing steelies or is there more to it than that?, is this figure the acutal width of the tyre?
whats the min/max, soz for all the questions but im interested
Hi Pete,
No worries, the 215's should fit straight onto the original rims. The Owners handbook states that the wheels are 6JJx15. Whether or not 225's will fit, or indeed wil be recommended I can not say, suffice to say that once I find out then I will let you know via this thread.
Kind Regards
Mark
Hi Pete,
I'm not quite sure why your Sedona was fitted with 205's, possibly because at some time one of it's previous owners managed to acquire them ceaper than 215's.
To play safe i would recommend fitting 215/65R15's on the basis that they are the size specified by Kia for European vehicles.
Consider that the Sedona is in excess of 2000Kg and the tyres need to safely support it's weight through cornering forces, which obviously cause an un-equal distribution of weight across the 4 tyres.
In theory, 225/65/R15's would give a slightly less harsh ride and would affect the rolling circumference only negligably. Changing the profile to 70 or even down to 60 (not recommended) would affect the overall ratio and would need to be compensated for by changing to a different width, noting that the distribution of weight across the tyre's road contact area would change and may require a change in pressures to compensate.
Any reputable tyre company should be able to give precise details but again, consider that the vehicle does a great deal of computer modelling to calculate suitable tyre sizes and pressures.

Should have read .........................vehicle manufacturer does a great deral.................
Sorry about that.
Also Pete, you mention that your digging around suggested a 70 profile. Not sure where you got this from as the handbook states 65 for Europe, of course there's no guarantee the books right i s'pose.
