went to get some more veg today but stopped when i saw the price!!!!!!! no more veg for me its as pricey as diesel so unless there is a change in the difference i shant be bothering with it apart from chucking the odd litre in to act as a lubricant for the pumps

Smile SVO Kia

Having run the Audi engines on SVO for some time I was after a little reasurance that the Sedona L is fine as well. Its hitting the pocket a little as the previous car averaged 55 mpg. Having read your bits looks like I will try!
Thanks

i wouldnt advise running a common rail diesel on svo without the fuel system being modified as it is quite a bit thicker than diesel some engines will run svo with no modifications but these tend to be older style injection systems, a firm called elsbet (i think the spelling is correct?)do conversions but they are quite pricey
as for the td sedonas i dont know which model of pump they use as the make and model of pump affects the suitability and reliability of running veggie

Ive been running my 2003 sedona 2.9 crdi on bio-diesel for a few months now and the only problem i had was having to change the fuel filter after about 300 miles but i was expecting that, Then on monday this week i decided to try a mix of pure rapesees oil and diesel roughly a 50/50 mix came to start the car this morning and it wouldnt start at the moment im charging my battery after running it flat trying to start the car, i hope the pump hasn't failed after reading some horror on the price to fix it.

svo is thicker than diesel so is harder to pump in cold weather as we have at the moment
but even though i am not running veg at the moment the other day mine wouldnt start so i put the jump leads on and it still wouldnt fire so then i boiled up a kettle and poured it over the intercooler to warm up the air going into the engine and it fired straight up
so since you have imo quite a strong mix of veg i would suggest boiling water over the filter, fuel rail and intake or whilst the battery is charging put a fan heater or even a hair dryer set up to blow into the engine bay to warm things up

Thanks for that mate i'll give it a go , i think i'll go for the boiling water trick actually sounds the quicker way of getting it warmed up, if i get it running i'll syphon some of the fuel and add more diesel and put some white spirts in also.

well have just added another batch as the price difference has widened again and also this may be just immagination but a mix seems to return better economy, other than that the car is running fine (fingers crossed) which is good as have a 1000 mile trip coming up
fully laden with wife 3 kids and the dumb dog and all of them like having their own seat except the dog which wants two

well here we are back 1300 miles later with no dramas to report with running a veg mix except a blocked filter which only became apparent as we hit the motorway car was running fine but performance was restricted ie 65mph up hills and if i pushed it the engine management light would come on and if i didnt back off the car would lose power untill i backed off
changed filter and normal service was resumed
