evening pete
looks like we have our own private club going here
a diesel needs heat to get going so check your glow plugs and the electric supply to them
clink (sound of penny dropping)we often do our shopping online so i shall have to ask she who must be obeyed to stick some oil on our next order still of to have a look at your whining wheel thread see you there
ttfn glenn
ps since this morning this thread has been viewed over 100 times does this mean lots are using veggie and keeping quiet or they are waiting for something to go wrong so they can have a laugh at us?
COME ON SPEAK TO US, ITS GETTING LONELY HERE

Started ok this morning , did a bit of research last night and a possible solution if they make them for the Sedona are these pre and post heat Glow Plugs by Beru

High-Tech Glow Plugs (type GE, type GN)

They Glow hotter and for Longer thus aiding cold morning starting, like I said Im unsure if they do them to fit the sedona

threre seem to be several pre heaters around some cars have heated filter bodies several web sites give instructions for making your own using plumbing parts dieselveg does an electric blanket for your filter and i have seen a kit using a glow plug to heat the oil but the problem is the oil in your pump is cold and it will take a while for the warmed oil to get to the pump so you end up in a catch 22 situation that is why most of the straight oil conversions use two tanks diesel for start up veg for running and then back to diesel just before you stop to flush the pump so it is ready to start again on diesel.
a couple of ideas to help you is to warm up the pump and injector pipes either by pouring boiling water over them (except the intercooler is in the way) or warming up using a hot air gun as this will make the oil thinner so easier to pump and better spray from the injectors
i suppose part of the reason theres a lack of external comment is both america and australia only have petrol versions so running on veg isnt an option to them
or maybe their all just shy but about 30 have been here for a look since last night
just caught your post about plugs the time they are "on" is controlled by the car not the plug but if it started fine this morning maybe it was just having an off day

Maybe but I will be dropping back down to 50/50 me thinks, are the GPs easy to do on the Sedona?

dont know as i havent gone that far into mine the thing that slows the job down is you will most likely have to take off the intercooler and the engine cover just to get access but once over that hurdle they are usually just a screw out and in job unless they have siezed which becomes a real PITB and when fitting use a torque wrench as they are quite a delicate item
see ya later glenn

Hiyah Guys Pepper here, another one who's run veggie oil in his Sedona.
I'd say with the Lucas Delphi system that I'd really not recommend it long term, I run a Peugeot 306 non HDi with no problems on a Bosch fuel pump which will run veggie oil with no problems at all.

As some one says beware of the lift pumps on these cars. they go and then contaminate everything else in the system. If you service your own cars make sure when you change the fuel filter you drain the bottom contents when you take out the water sensor into a clear jar so you can see if there are any metal filings in there. (I've found them in mine, but so has my friend in his Xsara HDi which has never had any alternative fuel put into it).

Oh and I think you'll have a hard job finding the glow plugs under the top cover, IIRC there aren't any there.
