on the site Bio-Power Index page in the section making your owm fuel he suggests 5% solvant but this is just a general guide not cast in stone on my last fill i didnt use any solvant just a good dollop of millers dieselpower plus but then i am running a weaker mix than you but even on this low ratio my car still seems to run a touch smoother but that is just in my biased opinion but it definetly dosent run any worse

thats 5% solvent with 95% SVO though isnt it?

Im roughly 35lts Diesel, 35 lts SVO and 2 lts white spirit, I bought some millers diesel power sport plus 4 (new stuff apparently) not used it yet though as it suggests adding it to a near empty tank

yes he is talking about straight cooking oil but by my VERY poor maths i think your mix is about 6% but he does say adjust the ratio to suit your own preference less solvent -hard starting more solvent dosent run so well when hot but it is very suck it and see as i said i like my mix thin so as not to risk the pump

mixed up another batch today car all running fine seems a bit aromatic as it warms up but no problems except getting the oil yet again the supermarket shelves had been stripped of the 3 litre bottles of economy oil so had to buy 1litre bottles only a penny more but more agro carrying them

ok stop nagging will have to try a richer mix but as i said being north of the border the ambient temp is lower here so the chance of waxing is greater, as for the easy start i would fire it in the nearest bin if you get any cold start problems use the glowplugs twice (switch on, when light goes off switch off then back on again then start)
where do you buy oil online?
and surely we cant be the only ones running veggie IS THERE ANYBODY ELSE OUT THERE?

Hiya Glenn,

Ive used Tescos in the past, just hunt around for a voucher code which normally means free delivery.

Guess what.........my motor would not start this morning , tried lighting the glo-plugs 2,3,4, and even 5 times.......nothing was getting some right "Look you have gone and fooked it" looks from the Mrs....had to use a good squirt of easy start to get it going, since then have done around 60 miles in it stopped and started quite a few time, sparked into life immediately even when sat for hours, so just going to leave the mix as is for now but will be reducing it back to around 50/50 next fill up me thinks

Come on everyone chuck some in and tell us of your experiences

Pete
