for more info on modified veggie go to Bio-Power Index page and info on twin tank systems try DieselVeg Home - Diesel to Vegetable Oil engine conversions also next months issue of car mechanics is going to run another article on veggie ps the current state of play on mine is still running fine but it isnt being used much at the moment only for local journeys
best wishes glenn

thanks for your update Glenn, is yours the 2.9 crdi as oppuse to the tdi model?

Today I put a mug full of white spirits into the 3/4 full tank, not really used it today to see if starting has improved , would kerosene be better than white spirits?, where would one get some kerosene from and if one was so inclined how much would one add to the mix?

Does anybody know if using 'Modified Used Vegetable Oil' (MUVO) would affect the vehicles warranty???
It is a bit cheaper than standard 'derv' but a lot greener !!

Cool

DO NOT USE KEROSENE!!!! it will not cause any problems but using it in a road vehicle is a no no as the customs and excise if they catch you they can hang you out to dry as it is not duty paid (towed away you pay, stored you pay and fine guess what you pay) and has a yellow dye in it to identify it the same as tractor diesel is red,the most common form of kerosene is household heating oil a less common source is aircraft fuel, a solvant you can use with no risk of c&e aggro is petrol. my sedona is a common rail and as far as i know the fuel system is delphi which may be tied to lucas but i dont know for sure, as an alternative to cutting into pipes you could try a dieselveg filter heater which i believe is just wrapped around the filter and the wires connected up for a bit more info on solvants and ratios try bio-power the section on make your own fuel or go to u tube search for top gear and then look for vegtable oil for diesel and the clip of them making fuel and running an old volvo on it when i asked at my local kia stealership about veggie oil they said no but bio diesel is a different creature and any where selling bio diesel it must be up to a standard
bs summit or other so it is suitable for all engines but i have heard that peugeot have instructed their garages to check tanks for veggie and turn down warranty claims if found but this is just hearsay

keep the home fires burning but turn down the thermostat

i add about 1/2 litre of solvant to 5 litres of veggie and use this mix in with 20/25 litres of dino diesel also a large splash of dieselpower plus, personally i would be wary of using such a high ratio of veg but then i am a coward and also living in scotland have to take lower ambient temperatures into account it may not be neccessary to add a solvant at all as the dino diesel acts as a solvant and so it may only be required if you were running 100%veg but on an unmodified common rail this would be suicide

did a fill up today 25 litres dino and 6 litres veg, saw last nights episode of fifth gear and they had there veggie merc on saying again how you are allowed 2500 litres before becoming liable for duty (yet again supermarket shelves almost bare i know scotland is the home of such delicacies as the deep fried mars bar but i dont believe that much is being used for cooking)
