Excessive engine oil in Carnival TDI

At Kia local representatives they did the 70,000 kilometers maintenance and put excess oil in the engine.

It looks like they put an extra quart, having 8 instead of 7.

Can anybody tell me which could be the damages from this situation?

Right now the engine when started cold generates a lot of gray smoke, shakes as if it were dancing front and back and consumes excesive diesel when running (before 23 kilometers per galon, now 15).

Just drain oil untill it get the right level, between the levels marks L and F.
