Default 04 Sedona Ex Overdrive switch

Is the overdrive only supposed to be engaged on the highway or should I leave it on all the time?

This may be a dumb question, but if the overdrive should be left on the whole time, then what would be the purpose of turning it off? I was just curious on the purpose of the O/D button on the shifter lever.

actually the manual says to use the overdrive only when going over 50 mph and highway driving. so I have been leaving it off in city driving and when I hit the highway and need the 5th gear I switch it on

I think you are supposed to disengage when you need extra power (steep climbs/pulling a load up an incline).

Ellandry, if that's what the manual says, then I'd go with it. But, if it's only supposed to be used at 50mph+, it would make more sense for the dash light to show when it's ON rather than when it's OFF (but that's neither here nor there).
