Default Problems with driver's side door lock.

After about a month after my purchase of a 2005 Sedona my door lock on the driver's side started making a really loud grinding noise. At times the door is difficult to unlock with the key. I took it to the dealer and they said it had something to do with the lock solenoid. The guy at the dealer said that they have been seeing it quite a bit but it is not covered under warranty. I still haven't fixed it because I don't want to pay to get something fixed when I feel that it should be fixed under warranty. I am now going on having the van for one year and I still have the same problem with the lock.

I have a 2001 Carnival which also had a problem with that solenoid, the doors would sometimes lock themselves, and sometimes go through a series of lock/unlock several times. I changed the drivers side solenoid and it cured the problem, total cost about 45 euros ($50).

Where did you get the solenoid from? So it wasn't covered under warranty for you either?

Bought it from the dealer and fitted it myself (30 mins) car was already out of warranty by then.
