Default Airbag

Hello, I am new to the forum, and not too familiar about Kia vehicles. I have an 2002 Sedona in which the airbag light came on. I took it to the local Autozone, and the car passed the code light test that they can hook up to decode the computer. What could be the problem, and how do I fix it?
Thanks for your help

I have this same problem. The airbag systems in Sedonas are apparently substandard (to match everything else). Check fuses. If they're good, not much you can do but take it to a qualified repair shop or dealership. If you're still in warranty, maybe a dealership will take care of it for no charge.

Good luck. Let us know how it turns out and what the problem was.

Default seat wiring

some airbag faults are caused by the wires connecting the seat sensor to the car comming loose if the seat has been moved or something pushed under it this may not be your problem but at least it dosent cost anything to have a look

Thanks! Are any of the underseat wires covered in the recall part of the airbag system?

Okay. Just so you'll know, there is a recall on some Sedonas for wiring problems. As the front seats are moved, wires beneath them can wear and possibly catch fire.

Hi, I had the same problem with the airbag light, and the same dumb reply from the dealer. I eventually found that the cable to the control box had come disconnected. It's situated behind the central console down at floor level and is covered in bright yellow stickers. I had to dismantle the central console to re-connect it as it's really difficult to access. You can check it visually with a small mirror without removing anything though.

Good luck.....
