Question Multiple Warning Lights!

Need diagnostic help!

2006 Sedona LX

Parking Brake Light and Battery Light on dash came on together but intermittently three days ago. Drove about 5 miles.

Yesterday two more lights turned on, the ABS and ESC.
Now all 4 lights are on continuous. Drove 2 miles home and parked.

Attempted to start the van this morning and would turn but not start.

No CEL's

Will check battery voltage next.

Possible signs of bad alternator??

Could be a bad alternator, in which case the battery voltage would continue to drop as you drove. Low battery voltage can cause all kinds of funky things to happen.

Thanks!
Van started with assistance of a battery charger. Found the negative terminal was loose. Will charge the battery and test, then check output of alternator.

The loose battery terminal would cause a "drop in voltage" because of the poor connection. Multiple warning lights usually indicate bad battery connections or bad ground returns on KIAs. The car's computers ECM/BCM/TCM/ABS don't like low voltage and will loose their "minds" if subjected to it.

Battery charged, van started but volts slowly dropped from 12.2 to about 11.3 in 15 minutes of running engine. Should have seen a spike in voltage after vehicle was running?? Will try testing the alternator next.

Running voltage should be around 14-14.5V, and jump up to that as soon as the engine starts. Check all the connections to the alternator, including the fuse that is on the positive battery terminal, and that all the fasteners on the terminal are tight.

Checked all fuses and connections. Everything appears to be good. Battery voltage holds about 11.3 while engine is running. Must be a failing alternator. Have a re-manufactured on order. Will install and post result tomorrow. Thanks for the tips!

Refurbed alternator installed. Volts while running back at 14.4v. All warning lights off. About 2 hours of work and $120 part. Lowest quote from mechanic was $420 installed. Nice to save a few dollars DIY.
Thanks for all replies!

Im also dealing with this issue. I replaced my battery and 2 days later, battery died at my college. Get a 20 min. charger to get home, Alternator picked up slack until i got home. Ended up taking the alternator out of the van earlier today and got it tested at autozone. Alternator passed all 3 tests. Battery was a bad battery again. So I got another one. Put the alternator on with new battery, drove for 20 mins. to see if it was fine. After getting gas, the battery light and brake light kept going on and off at random times until i got home. Before i went on test drive, the battery was at 12.88V while out of car. On start up, jumped and stayed at 14.4V. i rechecked at home and ot dropped to 12.68V. I actually don't have any clue why this is happening if my alternator is fine. Also checked the connecters and grounds and Alternator relay. All seemed fine. Didn't check the fuses on the positive battery cable. I'm in automotive classes at my college so I'm going to ask my instructers tomorrow to see if they can shed some light on this trippy K.I.A.

First time posting, but I found this entry on a previous thread and am experiencing something similar.

On my way to my parents' house on Christmas Eve, my brake and battery warning light came on after I turned on my headlight. Progressively, each warning light came one. First, ABS, then ESC off, then ESC, eventally almost all warning lights were on. The transmission also started shifting roughly. Eventually, the car could only weakly accelerate and I coasted into a parking lot and turned the car off. When I tried to restart the the car, the start went slowly, but would not start the engine.

I tested the battery this morning and it mesured just over 12 V before starting and over 14 V after jump starting the car. The check engine light was on and returned the codes p2106, p1295, p0562. As car kept idling, the other warning lights again turned on. I've read a couple similar threads, but am not quite sure if the same solutions apply, especially because of the low voltage (p0562).

My car is a 2006 Kia Sedona. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
