Default P0455 Evap Emmission Control System Leak

Hi All,
I'm getting the following CEL code: P0455 Evap Emmission Control System Leak(Large).

Any idea what it could be, and is this something that is covered with the 100k mile warranty?

The most common thing that causes this code is the gas not being tight or been left off after fueling. It could be other things but check that 1st. Evap components are not covered 10/100.

Thanks Spongebob. I'll erase the code, and possibly buy a new gas cap if the error contintues. Thanks!

So, I bought a new gas cap at the dealer then cleared the code. Code came back after a few hours. Any other suggestions?

Found my problem. The air intake hose from the MAF to the throttle body had a huge rip in it. It's really hard to see unless you take off the hose.

Good job on solving this.

Just a note to others: I too have the ripped intake between MAF and intake,
so look for this.

After finding this I looked around and realized that lots of the rubber and plastic seems to be deteriorating much more quickly then other cars I have owned.

A rip in the intake hose would not cause a P0455.

Question

Somewhere amongst the cobwebs of my brain is a memory that contains something to do with emission components being guaranteed longer than the normal factory warranty period?

Unless that is only related to the cat?
