Default Fuel Door Not Working

Has anyone had a problem with the remote fuel door switch not working? I checked the fuse and it appears to be fine.

Default Gas Door

I have never seen a reference on any of the Sedona boards to such a problem.

The kia Site http://www.kiatechinfo.com/ says you can remove the seat, remove the rear inside trim and then access the door opener module. I suppose this means that in an emergency you can at least fill the tank. The diagnostics for the filler door follow. The front switch needs the car to be hooked up to a computer (evidently) for diagnosis. Sounds like a job for your dealer if you are still covered. Good luck and let us know what the problem was.

George in Wisconsin.

1.
Remove the rear seats. (Refer to the Body group - rear seats)

2.
Remove the luggage side trim. (Refer to the Body group - interior trim)

3.
Open the fuel filler door and disconnect the wiring connector after loosening 2 bolts.

4.
Check for continuity between terminal No. 1 and No. 2. If there is no continuity replace the fuel filler door opener.

Inside the panel in the back where the jack is, there is a release cable that allows you to open the fuel door. The procedure you described sounds like what the dealer would do to resolve the problem. The van is only 6 months old, so it is a covered problem.

When I get it resolved I will post again.

My dealer raided another Sedona on the lot to replace the faulty switch on the driver door. All is well now.
