Hi Ozguy,

Back in August 2006 I e-mailed Kia about fitting LPG to my Grand Carnival and received the below reply. From this advice, I am a little concerned about whether Kia would honour any warranty claim for a motor problem (valves, injectors etc) should the vehicle have LPG fitted.

"Thank you for you inquiry regarding the use of LPG to power your Kia vehicle. Kia Australia does not supply LPG powered vehicles and does not produce any “kits” that would facilitate the use of this fuel.

While aware of the desire of some owners to use this fuel, Kia does not recommend its use at this time. Should you wish to pursue this matter further, you will need to liaise with after market LPG suppliers.

Will my warranty be affected if I have the vehicle modified?

“The New Kia Vehicle warranty will continue to apply to vehicles that may have been modified. However, Kia does not warrant the workmanship of, or any part, component, assembly, equipment or accessory that has not been supplied by and approved by Kia for the specified purpose.

Should any defect be caused by or attributed to any modification not carried out at the direction of Kia, the New Kia vehicle Warranty will not cover any part, component, assembly, equipment or accessory used in the modification, nor any part, component, assembly, equipment or accessory that has been damaged due to a failure which is attributed to the modification.”

I trust this information is helpful.

Kind regards
