G'day Andy
You will find that the fuel economy will sort itself after you have travelled a few thousand klm's.We found with the GC that it was going through a lot of fuel at first then settled down to around what Kia advetised as it's figure.Hope this helps.Cheers Len

My 2004 Rio actually gets half a litre per hundred better than the window sticker. They do loosen up after a while.
107000 km in two years service every 7500km

I'm old-fashioned, I work in mpg (miles per gallon) & you guys seem to be getting around 17 - 18 mpg. Our '05 Carni (5-sp. manual) gets 20 - 24 mpg (550km from 75 litres) around town so I certainly wouldn't be expecting more than 20 out of a 2.7 auto pulling around 2 tonnes. Remember, the auto makes that little motor work harder. As Len said, they should improve with mileage though.

Out of interest, what's the highway mileage like? Ours does 29mpg or 750-odd km per tank. This means only one fill between Canbera & Brisbane when we go on hols. Conversely, my Nissan Patrol will struggle out 450km from 92 litres of LPG. Be a few fills when we take it up there this year.

G'day Esses
Last year when we went to Ballina we filled up at Buladelah & got to Ballina with half a tank left thats approx 500-550k's.Around town we are now getting 600klm per tank. The GC now has 13,000k,s on the clock. We have recently got a rattle coming from the rear end somewhere,as yet i haven't been able to find what is causing it.It's driving me nuts.Looks like a trip to the dealer to sort it out.Cheers Len

Good luck with that, Len. Ours had a quiet, intermittent version of the infamous front-strut-thump for about 12 months. It came & went, never very loud & then just disappeared. We never even got around to mentioning it to the Dealer. Our latest was the battery mysteriously flattening itself. It was eventually traced to a defective wiring loom on the DVD. They've now agreed to replace the whole shebang - again. I think this'll be our 5th DVD player, I've lost count. They'll be glad when our warranty runs out!

Just got back from a road trip through the snowy mountains in my 2001 Classic manual, it averaged 9.5 litres to the 100kms, but it touched 750kms for 62litres on one sector that is 8.2 l/100km.
I couldn't believe it I did the maths twice.
Mind you it was only 2 of us in the van and all the rear seats were left at home.
