Default European Carnival diesel and automatic transmission

Does anyone have experience with the european version with a diesel engine and automatic transmission?

I have tried the diesel engine with manual transmission but no dealer in Denmark apparently has a demo model with automatic transmission to try out.

Default Autobox

Hoping to pick up my new 2.9 TS Auto soon (maybe tomorrow).
On test drive the auto seemed fine - maybe better than the manual I have also driven.
I haven't played with the manual mode - just let the autobox do it's job.

Also, and this is where I don't know the autobox details of the Sedona as well as I might, if this box is anywhere near as clever as the one on my '97 Volvo auto, then it will be adaptive, ie, it will vary it's change up/down points based on how you drive it. This really does happen - after a few hundred miles of towing it takes my volvo a day or two to adjust to running solo again. There may also be some adaptive tuning of the engine management system going on in there.

So - you probably can't make any really detailed judgement of the autobox based on just a short test drive.

When I finally collect the car, I will let you know how the autobox gets on.

and next spring, how it copes with towing a caravan.

Regards

Not much to say really about the autobox - it works.....

Maybe a tendency to stay in a high gear means it slows the responsiveness of the car (bus ?), but after all that is why you have the tiptronic option, isn't it ? and meantime it helps economy.

When I can think of anything more to say, will post :-)
