Smile Workshop manual for 2006 Grand Carnival

Greetings and Salutations to all,

I'm new to this forum, I'm impressed at how informative it is. It's exactly what I was looking for. Just purchased a Grand Carnival last week, most impressed so far.

I'll want to purchase a workshop manual and was told I might have a hard time here in Aus'. Has anyone had trouble? Is it available in pdf?

I noticed (in the user manual) non-Australian models can get a trip computer in the overhead console. Has anyone seen these in Australia? Is it worth trying to buy one from the US and DIY fitting it?

Thanks in advance
Crispy

Hi crispy

I also have looked at swapping in the trip computer in to my Aus spec Carnival... from the little research Ive had time to do it seems most of the trip computers are for the diesel engine model in the states, I suspect it should plug up though and it wouldnt be too hard to provide the sensor imputs from around the car.. most usually are a potable terminal of the back of the dash in most cases.

not meaning to laugh off this whole sedona / carnival thing now I have sold my 2003 sedona se.

but

1. why did they omit a trip computer on the top of the range model, because when you test drove it you would query the 25 mpg (diesel) with the website advertised 44 mpg.

2. why did they omit a trip computer on the sedona 2006. please don't say price..

Clartsonly, you've sold your car, you can stop being so bitter about it now.

The Diesel wasn't available in the USA for the first year of production at least, they have just brought it out for the European market as we are big users of Diesel vehicles over here.

Oh and the computers that come in things like the Sorento and Sportage over here in the UK calculate everything in USA gallons, which is perhaps why they omitted it from the Australian versions.

Wouldn't want to be seen doing 18-20 to the gallon now would we!

You dont need a workshop manual. EVERYTHING is online at KIA Global. It has the whole car layouts and Step by step how to's for everything. I used it when installing reverse camera and in dash dvd player. It is so easy your kids could do it.( ie remove 2 screws on top.then sit 2 screws in tray, then pull on left os facia etc).VERY INFORMATIVE. I have a mate who is service manager at a Ford dealership and he was astounded that a compnay puts the entire contents of the car for everybody to see. If aUSTRALIAN mANUFACTURERS done that with theirs they would lose soo much $$$. I will find the exact link to the site(its on my other PC) and post it for you.It even has all the deaaler fixes and service repair shedules on it.

Sorry forgot about this.
heres the link
http://www.kiatechinfo.com . Open that up, then click 'shop' on left, then choose vehicle model and year from dropdown list in right, then click on your model back on the left. Then that will all expand into every bit of detail for you.If you click on 'community' up top it will give you access to TSB(technical service bulletins) and campaigns etc whick is what all the KIA workshops base their repairs and car faults on.
Good luck chicken
