Hi Kirky,
The all-new Sedona has middle row captain's chairs in the US and Canada but, as described by Len, here in Australia the same vehicle is named the Grand Carnival and has 3 individual chairs in the middle row. In all countries the rear row has a 3 position 60-40 split that folds into the floor. (note, I have also seen pictures of a version on sale in Korea with 4 rows squeezed in there to seat 11).
The Kia web site (
http://www.kiamotors.com/Common/img/MS/ca_ver.html) has pictures and info about the "shortie" Sedona to be released in Europe, and presumably elsewhere, and states.......
"The all-new Carnival line-up offers customers significant new benefits - particularly in the key areas of cabin space, seating comfort, accommodation versatility and overall packaging, so important to MPV buyers.
Making best use of the wider cabin, New Carnival's seven individual seats are now mounted in a 2+3+2 layout (compared with 2+2+3 in the previous model) and combine superior support with generous proportions to accommodate drivers and passengers of all shapes and sizes. The multi-adjustable front seats have 530 mm wide cushions, while all the other passenger seats are 500 mm wide, except the centre, middle row seat which is a little narrower at 460 mm.
All five middle and back row seats can be individually moved fore/aft, reclined, folded forwards, tipped up or completely removed. To maximize Carnival's versatility these removable seats have a modest weight, so they can be easily handled. Luggage space ranges from 214 liters (all seats occupied) up to a massive 3,423 liters when the middle and back row seats are removed."
From the pictures of the new SWB Sedona, it looks quite neat, but it appears that it misses out on fold into the floor rear seats, and does not look to have much room for luggage. It also has a smaller engine in the SWB version (2.7l with 4 speed auto vs 3.8l 5 speed auto)
Hope this helps,
Bert.
