I have to tell you I was at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto on Thursday. I was really looking forward to see the new Sedona after owning and loving an Gen 1 Sedona for 3 1/2 years. I traded it in on a Sorento and while I love my Sorento to death I am seriously considering trading it in on the new Sedona.

I can't believe the fit and finish and all the amenities of even the base model. The sets in the back really a nice engineering package. I've worked the Dodge Stow and go and the Honda Odyssey and I have to tell you there is alot of effort to those systems in comparision to the Sedona.

I was thoroughly impressed with the EX with power package and the way the power doors worked sides and back. My inlaws have a Nissan Quest and to lower the rear door you have to reach in and push a button on the inside and then make sure you get out of the way of a closing door. On the Sedona they put the same button on the bottom of the tailgate so all you have to do is push it and it will close from there.

I really do want to take the oppourtunity to drive one and see how it compares to the Gen 1 Sedona.

G'day Dman. We have an '05 Carnival (Sedona) & love it, especially the kids. We stopped at our local dealer after swimming today to check out the new Grand Carnival & came away very impressed. The only niggles were the foot-operated parking-brake (never very popular here), the Tacho moved "sideways" in the dash, auto trans only & the lack of armrests on the middle row seats.

Positives were the sheer space in the thing, those disappearing 3rd-row seats, cruise-control standard, fit/finish & most obviously that 3.8 V6. A decent size engine at last.

All that said, we can't justify trading our Carni. so we'll happily continue with it & our Rio.
